The Third Żołądkowa Bar Academy Finals

Ten teams from all over Poland. Ten complex pieces of choreography. Only three minutes to demonstrate who deserves to win first place. This was the challenge set at the 3rd finals of the Żołądkowa Bar Academy, hosted by Patricia Kazadi.

The show was held at the Warsaw Palladium club where 62 teams arrived to compete from early morning for entry into the evening finals. Green Line, Red Mint and many more newly created and invented cocktails filled the glasses that were set in front of the judging panel, chaired by Marcin Dąbek from Impresive Flair Bar. It was the judging panel who were to decide whose bartending acrobatics were to earn the champion’s title this year and to evaluate elements such as the pouring test, speed and flair.

The competitors were encouraged on by the hosts of the 3rd Finals: Dawid Typa and Patricia Kazadi. The efforts of the bartender pairings were watched closely by guests from media circles and also by well-known friends of Żołądkowa Gorzka who had previously extended their best wishes to the brand on its 60th birthday.

The Żołądkowa Bar Academy is the first such competition in Poland aimed at specifically two-person bartending teams who work together behind the bar on daily basis. The heats were held across many Polish cities to ensure that the best bartenders were chosen to show their skills before the Warsaw audience.

The winners of the 3rd Żołądkowa Bar Academy finals were Arkadiusz Kuna and Patryk Kowalski, representing The Place Club from Lublin. Second place was taken by Michał Kobylański and Igor Tecz from the Zła Kobieta club in Sopot, while ranked third was the team of Adam Baczkowski and Łukasz Smętkiewicz from the Szczecin Rocker. This year, Warsaw bartenders did not manage to surpass their colleagues from other cities.

After the competition, the heady atmosphere behind the bar spread to the whole club and the guests enjoyed themselves late into the night. The next exciting finals are a year ahead.
